From today, my “house” will have a new location:

blog.sina.com.cn/xuejiao80

Well, I guess this will be my last choice in terms of writing a blog everyday. For some blog websites, such as WordPress and Blogger, my friends in China cannot open them; but for some others, there’s no server in the U.S., so it will be super slow for me to update my blogs.

The only blog website I know of is Sina Blog, which has servers both in the U.S. and China; therefore, my choice would be switching my blogs from WordPress to Sina Blog. In this way, my friends in both countries would be able to read my blogs and have knowledge of our updates, especially when Jr. is born. I bet everyone in China would love to see his or her pictures.

I know my friends in China would think I am strange—writing blogs in English on a Chinese website, but……Living in the U.S. for five years, my everyday language has already become English, it will be very difficult for me to describe things happening here in a Chinese way. It is not just because of the translations between two languages, but also because of the way of thinking and cultures are not translatable.

For my friends in the U.S., who only read English, I know it will be difficult for you to adjust to or get around on a Chinese website even though all my updates will be in English. In order to make such friends easier:

  • I will always put the most recent update on the very top of my homepage.
  • I put summaries of five recent updates on my blog homepage, click each title, you will be able to read the full story.
  • Here is a list for some useful Chinese words to get around my blog, which are below my blog title “The Stork Brings Baby!” and the link (http://blog.sina.com.cn/xuejiao80).
    • 首页=homepage
    • 博文目录=list of my posts
    • 图片=pictures
    • 关于我=about me
    • If you want to leave me a comment, please click the word “评论” at the very end of the story.
    • If you would like to subscribe my new blog, please try to use RSS or find the word “订阅”, which is directly before the blog title and very next to the link.

Sorry, my friends! I know this is very inconvenient for you; however, I will try my best to bring you better and more interesting updates everyday.

P.S. Sina Blog doesn’t allow connection with FaceBook (because FaceBook is prohibited in China), but I will post our updates by means of news feed on FaceBook, especially pictures of Roscoe and Mushu for those who love them.
